The service
Buddies Nepal helps trekkers find each other to travel together in Nepal and share a guide and costs. It is free. By using it with your account, you accept these terms. It is for people aged 18 and over; a minor may come as a companion, under the responsibility of the person who adds them.
Putting people in touch, not an agency
The site puts people in touch; it organizes no trek, doesn’t verify members’ identities or guides’ licences, takes no payment and is not a party to agreements between trekkers or with a guide. Everyone remains responsible for their own safety, choices and insurance. Meet the group before setting off, in a public place, and never send money to someone you haven’t met. See our safety tips and the trekking insurance guide.
Your commitments
- Truthful information: your age, your gender (women-only groups rely on trust) and your posts.
- Respectful behaviour, with no harassment, discriminatory words or illegal content.
- No commercial soliciting, advertising or sending the same message in bulk; guides don’t write to trekkers first.
- No asking for money through messaging (deposit, “booking fee”…).
- The companions you add agree to it, and you remain their contact.
- No extracting or reusing members’ data (bots, lists, prospecting).
Organizers and groups
The organizer accepts or declines requests, may remove a member, hand over or cancel the departure; members are told by email. A past departure stays visible to its members, then is deleted 18 months after the end of the trek.
Moderation
Every post, message or profile can be reported. The administrator may remove a post or message and suspend an account that doesn’t respect these terms, without notice in case of scam or danger.
Liability
The site is provided as is, with no guarantee of availability. Its publisher is not liable for agreements between members, guides’ services or events during a trek.
